Muck and Bricks(original acoustic song)

Hello, and welcome. This is another original piece i wrote and recorded some years back.It goes back in time, dealing with the Channel tunnel, between England and France. For a very short time i had worked the building sites in London, and at one point i had considered applying as a laborer on that particular site.Fortunately i reached saturation point, with always the same, "more muck and bricks" screamed at me every 15 minutes, and i wisely decided to return to playing my music humbly on the streets.Shortly after, while i was still in London, i read a tiny almost non-existent article, about a young man by the name of Paul Ross killed while working on the tunnel.Ironically, he died on MayDay better known as international workers day or labour day.For what little it's worth, i wrote this for him.I imagined myself in his shoes and wrote these few lines. I hope you like what you hear. All rating, comments, subs, much appreciated.Ed.SchmidtMuck and BricksGoodbye friends,i've got me a job.Gonna help build the tunnel, gonna save a few bob.Muck and bricks.Muck and bricks. It's steady work, and it pays real well,be away from my home, how long who can tell?Muck and bricks.Muck and bricks.I hear the site is dangerous, and you get no thanks,I'll be one of the lucky ones, cough my way to the bank. But it's worth it,with their muck and bricks. And when i returni'm gonna buy me some land, build me a house, won't work for nobody else.Muck and bricks.Muck and bricks.I've worked the sites myself you know.Seen the conditions,so i know the score.Your treated like an asshole, doing dirty, dangerous work.and it aint worth it( little clipping in the paper) It aint worth it.I wish somebody had told you,It aint worth it(little clipping in the paper) I wish somebody had told you, It aint worth it.Muck and bricks.Muck and bricks.Muck and bricks.Muck and bricks. And when i return i'm gonna buy me some land, build me a house, won't work for nobaody else.Muck and bricks.Muck and bricks.and i wish somebody had told youand i wish somebody had told youand i wish somebody had told youit aint worth it.I wish somebody had told you,it aint worth it.

May 28, 2008 - Hi Ed, Thanks for the preamble, it really set the tone for the song. I also really like the way the rythym and the 'muck and bricks' gave the sense of a chain gang. I think it's worth quite a lot that you wrote this for him :)
